17 MotoGP racers will be welcomed by President Joko Widodo upon arrival in Jakarta

JAKARTA – Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), Erick Thohir said that the 2022 MotoGP racers who will compete at the Mandalika Circuit, Lombok, will first be received by Indonesian President Joko Widodo in Jakarta.

The second series of MotoGP 2022 this time will take place at the Mandalika Circuit which will take place on Sunday (20/3/2022). But there are interesting things in the MotoGP title this time. Later, the 17 main MotoGP racers will first meet with President Jokowi.

The meeting is planned to be held in Jakarta on March 16, 2022. Later these racers will follow the parade conducted by President Jokowi in Jakarta and end at the Merdeka Palace.

“On Wednesday (16/3) a parade will be held in Jakarta. There will be 17 racers who will attend, including Marc Marquez, Joan Mir, Maverick Vinales, Andrea Dovizioso, and Francesco Bagnaia. They will be welcomed by President Joko Widodo with the parade starting and ending at the Merdeka Palace,” said Erick.

Erick expressed his appreciation to a number of parties such as Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Pandjaitan, MotoGP Field Commander Hadi Tjahjanto, Minister of Tourism Sandiaga Uno and NTB Governor Zulkieflimansyah for their support and hard work, including to sponsors, both BUMN and private.

“Of course I am also grateful for the high public interest, not only the MotoGP fanbase, but also the Indonesian people in general and the people of Lombok,” concluded Erick.
