5 Dramas Romance Minors With Adults

Even though it is global, South Korean people still uphold their culture. One of them is regarding the rules for minors which are quite strict there.

This can be seen in the annual event which is held until midnight. K-Pop idols who are underage have to leave after 10 pm.

Likewise, some of the Korean dramas below have received criticism from Knetz aka Korean netizens, because they contain love stories between minors and adults.

This drama tells the story of Baek Seung Yoo (Lee Do Hyun), a math student who falls in love with his teacher, Ji Yoon Su (Lim Soo Jung) at a private school. The premise of the story had made netizens commotion, especially with the age of the main actors who were 15 years apart.

Korean netizens strongly criticized the drama Melancholia for overly romanticizing the romance of minors with adults, especially the teacher himself. A few international netizens also think that it is uncomfortable to watch this drama.

So the weekend drama that many netizens talk about, the plot Twenty Five, Twenty One drew criticism from Knetz. The love story that was thought to have started at the age of 25 and 21 turned out to be the case when Na Hee Do (Kim Tae Ri) was 19 years old.

Of course this surprised the public because it did not match the original synopsis. Although there are international netizens who feel that the relationship is not a serious problem, Korean netizens still regret it because Korean culture upholds the legal age issue.

Legendary drama Goblins starring Kim Go Eun and Gong Yoo had received a reprimand from Knetz. This is because Ji Eun Tak’s character is still a high school boy when he meets and has a relationship with Kim Shin, who is a 30-year-old male.

In addition, Korean netizens also highlighted Ji Eun Tak’s dialogue, which had discussed having children with Kim Shin. The dialogue is considered inappropriate for the character of a high school student.

Since its inception, Backstreet Rookie has made netizens excited. This is because of the scene of Kim Yoo Jung kissing Ji Chang Wook.

The problem is, Kim Yoo Jung is said to be still a high school student. Knetz was even more furious because the scene occurred when Kim Yoo Jung was wearing school clothes and had a lot of sensual nuances.

This age issue is a serious matter in South Korea. As connoisseurs of their content, we still have to respect their culture, yes!
