Engine problems still haunt Fabio Quartararo in the first MotoGP Qatar race, Sunday (6/3/2022). During the pre-season test, El Diablo complained top speed the YZR-M1 motorcycle he was driving.

In session free practice (FP2), Fabio Quartararo’s speed was 10 km/h behind Alex Rins, who was the fastest racer in that session. What was feared came true when Quartararo was only able to start in 11th position in Sunday’s race.

In the interview session after the race, Fabio Quartararo admitted that he had struggled since the second lap. This is influenced by the tire pressure that reaches the extreme point.

During the race, his team mate Franco Morbidelli and Andrea Dovizioso of the RNF Yamaha team felt the same way. Based on the speed graph during the race, Quartararo was only able to reach 348 km/h.
