8 East Palapa Telematics Workers Killed in Attack by Papuan KKB

Telset.id, Jakarta – It is reported that 8 workers from PT Palapa Timur Telematika (PTT) died after being attacked by the Armed Criminal Group or KKB, in Papua.

Based on the information that the team Telset collected on Friday (4/3/2022) from the Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Pol. Ahmad Musthofa Kamal, this case occurred in the early hours of Wednesday (2/3/2022).

According to his account, the attack by KKB Papua occurred when PT Palapa Timur Telematika workers were repairing Telkomsel’s BTS 3 Tower in Beoga District, Puncak Regency, Papua Province.

“The attack was carried out by KKB at the Tower Base Transceiver Station (BTS) 3 Telkomsel CO 53M 756085 9585257 in the Beoga District, Puncak Regency,” said Kombes Ahmad.

The police received a report of the attack from a survivor with the initials NS. At that time, NS was not at the scene. When he returned to the location, his colleagues were found dead at around 13.00 WIT.

Suddenly, he immediately contacted the police and asked for help via CCTV Tower BTS 3 on Thursday (3/3/2022).

“Seeing his comrades were dead, around 13.00 WIT the witness asked for rescue assistance through CCTV Tower BTS 3. Then at 16.00 WIT it was monitored on CCTV Central PTT in Jakarta,” he explained.

According to witness reports, the Papuan KKB attack caused 8 workers of PT Palapa Timur Telematika to die on the spot. They have the initials B, R, BN, BT, J, E, S, and PD. Currently NS and 8 bodies are still at the scene and cannot be evacuated due to weather factors.

“To get to the location of the incident can only be reached by air,” said Kombes Ahmad.

However, Kombes Ahmad promised to form a special team for the evacuation process and investigation of this attack case.

“The Peak Police have formed a team to go to the TKP, to assist the evacuation process and carry out investigations and investigations,” continued Kamal.

Meanwhile, according to PT PTT’s publicist, Aifi Anna Shinti, his party will keep the East Palapa Ring telecommunication service operating optimally after yesterday’s unfortunate incident.

“The company has taken the necessary steps to ensure that the East Palapa Ring telecommunication service continues to function properly,” said Aifi.
