Bomb hits Pakistani police convoy, at least 3 killed

Authorities in southwest Pakistan said Wednesday a side bomb explosion had killed at least three people, including a senior officer, and injured 24 others.

Initial police reports said the bomb was hidden in a motorbike, parked on the side of a main road, and targeted a police convoy in central Quetta, capital of Baluchistan province.

A hospital spokesman, Waseem Baig, said some of the injured were in a “critical condition” and he feared the death toll would rise. At least 10 police officers were among those injured.

No one has yet claimed responsibility for the deadly attack.
