Gadgetren – After successfully presenting the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition in February 2022 yesterday, Xiaomi in China has finally brought two other new mobile phones that are part of the Redmi K50 series including the Redmi K50 and Redmi K50 Pro.

In general, the two new phones have the same screen specifications which have a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel and support 2K resolution (3200 x 1440 pixels), 120Hz refresh rate, 526 ppi pixel density, and brightness levels up to 1200nits.

Not only that, the Redmi K50 series screen is also equipped with full DC dimming, Dolby Vision, AI HDR, and is protected by an anti-scratch layer of Corning Gorilla Victus which is claimed to be 1.5 times better than Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

There are four colors available on these two phones, including Black, Silver, Iridescent, and Green. The difference between the two Redmi K50 series lies in the aspects of the runway, photography, and battery.

The inside of the Redmi K50 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Octa-Core (5nm) chipset which has an AnTuTu score of over 850,000 which makes this chipset powerful. Meanwhile, the Redmi K50 Pro is the first mobile phone to use the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 Octa-Core (4nm) chipset.

Both the Redmi K50 and Redmi K50 Pro chipsets provide LPDDR5 RAM technology and UFS 3.1 internal storage. To optimize device performance, both are supported by the latest cooling technology in the form of a 3950mm² Vapor Chamber (VC) made of steel.

The VC that is presented is similar to the T shape of the cooling system available on the motherboard. In addition, the heat dissipation material inside the CPU is made of 7 layers consisting of graphite, copper sheeting, and thermal paste which form a 3D dissipation system to support the best performance of both devices.

While in the photography sector, both front lenses use a 20 MP resolution lens with a Sony IMX596 sensor to produce selfie photos and accommodate good and clear video calls.

On the back, both the Redmi K50 and Redmi K50 Pro sport three lenses. However, the Redmi K50 Pro has a 108MP main lens with a Samsung S5KHM2 sensor and provides Optical Image Stabilization (OIS).

The rear camera of the Redmi K50 Pro is also accompanied by Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) so that video recording will be more stable and the results are smooth even if you rely on your hands without the need to use a tripod.

The rest of the two lenses of these two phones are accompanied by a 2MP macro lens and an 8MP wide-angle lens with an area of 119°. Then the main lens of the Redmi K50 has a lower resolution than its brother, which is 48MP with the Sony IMX 582.

If the Redmi K50 offers an in-display fingerprint scanner, the Redmi K50 Pro does not have an in-display fingerprint scanner but is located on the right side of the body as well as the power button.
