Daihatsu Brand LCGC Still Selling Hard

Uzone.id – The condition of the national automotive market continues to improve in line with increasing productivity. In February 2022, the national automotive market recorded retail sales of around 70 thousand units, or an increase of 49 percent compared to February 2021, which was around 46 thousand units.

When compared with the achievement in January 2022 of 78 thousand units, the national automotive market experienced a slight correction of 10.9 percent.

Based on data from Gaikindo (Indonesian Automotive Industry Association), the national automotive market in February 2022, the LCGC segment was more quickly affected by the PPnBM DTP relaxation policy with a total contribution of 18 percent, or an increase of 2 percent compared to the previous January 2022 of 16 percent.

Meanwhile, the commercial segment also experienced an increase with a total contribution of 28 percent (up 2 percent VS January 2022 by 26 percent); and non-LCGC to 54 percent (down 4 percent VS January 2022 by 58 percent).

In terms of brand sales, Daihatsu still maintains the number 2 position in national automotive sales with retail sales in February 2022 reaching 13 thousand units, with a market share of 18.7 percent.

This achievement also increased by 56 percent when compared to last February 2021 as many as 8 thousand units.

In terms of model contribution, the LCGC segment is the top contributor to Daihatsu’s car sales with a total of 5.1 thousand units, or a contribution of 39 percent with the composition of each Sigra around 3 thousand units, and Ayla 1.5 thousand units.

Followed by the commercial segment with a total of 4 thousand units, which contributed 32 percent (GranMax Pick Up 3.1 thousand units, and GranMax Minibus including Blind Van around 1.2 thousand units); and the non-LCGC segment by 28% with a total of 3.8 thousand units (Rocky, Xenia, Terios each with around a thousand units, plus Sirion and Luxio with around 200 units).
