Deputy Minister of Health Dante asks the public not to be careless even though the number of COVID-19 cases has fallen – The decline in COVID-19 cases in recent weeks is good news to be grateful for.

Even so, Deputy Minister of Health, Dante Saksono Harbuwono said the public should not be careless and continue to implement health protocols.

“Updates on the current situation show that the trend of national cases continues to decline, the reproductive number of the virus (Rt) has decreased in every major island in Indonesia. But there are 5 provinces where the trend is slightly increasing, namely Aceh, East Nusa Tenggara, Central Sulawesi, Gorontalo and North Kalimantan,” he said quoting SehatNegeriku.

Meanwhile, cases of death in Omicron cases are mostly dominated by the elderly and people with comorbidities who have not received the full dose of vaccination. Based on the death audit at the hospital, the disease causing death in COVID-19 patients was dominated by diabetes, hypertension and kidney failure.

To reduce the mortality rate of COVID-19 patients, the government and related stakeholders continue to work hard to accelerate complete and booster doses of vaccination, especially for vulnerable groups such as the elderly and people with comorbidities.

The public is advised to immediately use the vaccination center or the nearest health service facility to get a complete dose of vaccination, including boosters.
