While some types of food and even some types of food poisoning may not hurt you, they can harm your little one. Therefore, there are some foods that should be avoided while pregnant.
To avoid food poisoning during pregnancy, be careful not to eat food that has been left out of the refrigerator for more than two hours (or more than an hour in hot weather).
Be sure to limit caffeine to 200 mg a day (one 12-ounce cup of coffee). And, as you probably know, forget about alcohol as your baby grows inside you.

1. Processed and raw meat
Processed meats such as cold cuts, deli meats, hot dogs, and other prepared meats should be avoided. On the other hand, raw and undercooked meat should also be avoided by pregnant women. This also applies to poultry such as chicken and turkey.
You can safely eat meat if it is heated to steaming and served hot.

2. Raw seafood
Seafood and seafood are very beneficial for the health of the fetus because they contain various vitamins and minerals. But when pregnant, you should avoid various processed fish and raw seafood. Because foods made from raw or undercooked fish such as sushi, are at risk of being contaminated with Listeria bacteria.

If consumed during pregnancy, these bacterial infections can cause miscarriage and health problems after the baby is born.
3. Raw eggs
Just like raw seafood, raw eggs can also be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria which can make pregnant women experience food poisoning. So you should avoid eating undercooked eggs or raw eggs while pregnant.

4. Unpasteurized milk and cheese
Raw milk, whether milk of goats, cows, camels or other mammals can contain harmful germs. So raw milk without the pasteurization process can make you sick, even in extreme cases it can be life threatening. This also applies to any cheese made from unpasteurized milk.
5. Certain fruits and vegetables
Fruits and vegetables are two things that are known to be healthy. But there are several types of vegetables that are prohibited for pregnant women to consume. Examples such as raw bean sprouts, papaya leaves, young papaya fruit and vegetables that are not washed clean.
