PREPARATION for the MotoGP Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia at the Mandalika Circuit, Lombok, which is less than two weeks away from being held, continues to be accelerated. The re-paving of some of the tracks, which had begun in the last few days, will be completed on March 8th.
“We hope that on March 8 the re-paving will be completed and it is hoped that it will comply with the standards set by the FIM and Dorna,” said Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Kartika Wirjoatmodjo in a virtual press conference, Sunday (6/3).
For facilities on the circuit, he added, currently also accelerating the final stages of completing the grand stands, which are 80% complete, including a new VIP deluxe building.
The Indonesian MotoGP Field Commander, Hadi Tjahjanto said that during the remaining 12 days before the race, all supporting infrastructure such as road access will also continue to be perfected. Among other things, repairing the bypass road from Lombok airport to the circuit.
“Currently, everything is going well, on average, 80% of the (work) has been completed, including the median roads, reforestation, repairing the hills,” he said. (OL-15)
