Neverwinter Nights 2 is one of the old RPG games that is actually quite fun to play these days. This game is a continuation of the first ever successful Neverwinter Nights series. However, Bioware as the developer of the first series, passed the baton on to its collaborator, Obsidian Entertainment, who had worked together to make the first Neverwinter Nights.
In terms of gameplay, this game is not much different from RPG games based on Dungeon and Dragon. You will play with a protagonist who will have an adventure with other characters. At the time, this game had pretty good graphics, and pretty lively voice acting.
In the adventure you will walk with 3 other characters that you can meet. In the future, Buddygame will discuss the game that was released in 2006 in more detail. Please continue to follow this article until it’s finished.
Neverwinter Nights 2: Choose Your Own Path
This sequel to Neverwinter Nights begins in a small village in the West Harbor area where there is a battle between an evil led by an entity known as the King of Shadows and the guardian knights of Neverwinter. The story of Neverwinter Nights 2 is divided into 3 acts.
The destiny of the protagonist is determined by this fight. The main character is an orphan who was adopted by an elf named Daeghun. Then when the village is attacked by a group of strange creatures named Githyanki, the first protagonist is asked by Daeghun to defeat the creature named Githyanki. After the invasion is over, Daeghun tells you to go to a place to look for silver shards.
After returning the silver shard, Daeghun sends you back to a big city called Neverwinter. On the way to Neverwinter, you will find various quests and also new characters named Khelgar (a fighter from the dwarf race who wants to become a monk), Neeshka (an impostor), and Elanee (an elf who has magical abilities).
Then over time, you will be accompanied by many other playable characters who certainly have reliable strength. In terms of gameplay, Dungeon and Dragons has a big impact. The perspective used in this game takes a third person point of view. You will control the character that you create along with other characters who are members of the party.
As an RPG game based on Dungeon and Dragons, before starting the game you will create your own character. Character Creation in Neverwinter Nights includes details. You start with what race you will choose, from humans, elves, orcs, and several others. Likewise the class that you can choose. In addition, after choosing the appearance of your characters, you also choose characteristics such as neutral good, chaotic neutral, or neutral evil.
Comes with Three Expansion Packs
This game consists of three expansion packs, including Mask of the Betrayer, Storm of Zehir, and also Mysteries of Westgate. The first expansion pack, Mask of the Betrayer, continues the original Neverwinter Nights story. In this game, you still use the character you created earlier. In Mask of the Betrayer takes place in the background of 2 countries. There are several new things offered in the first expansion pack such as spells and fighting abilities.
Then the second expansion pack called Storm of Zehir which was released in June 2008. The story of Storm of Zehir begins when the main character accompanies a ship called the Vigilant that sails from Sword Coast to Samarach. The captain of the ship tells your character and party members to go below the deck in anticipation of the coming storm.
The last one is the last expansion pack called Mysteries of Westgate. This expansion pack has a story that is not continuous with the original game and also the two previous expansion packs.
Graphically this game is quite good, but not too special. We found stiff expressions in each character related to some other games that have better character expression. In detail Neverwinter Nights 2 is quite good too.
Conclusion: Old Games That Are Still Fun Finished
This RPG game from Obsidian Entertainment released by Atari is still quite fun to play. The story that this game has is very fun to follow. Even though the score is not as high as the first Neverwinter Nights, this game is still right for you to follow even all the expansion packs.
