Quarantine-free Foreign Tourists When in Bali, Covid-19 Task Force: Will Be Evaluated Periodically

Suara.com – The government’s decision to release foreign tourists aka foreign travelers to be free from quarantine when visiting Bali is still in the trial phase.

Spokesman for the Covid-19 Task Force, Prof. Wiku Adisasmimto, said that in the future, this trial will be evaluated regularly every week.

“Tourists are indeed allowed to choose flights to Bali and after a minimum of 4 days and get a negative RT-PCR result on the 3rd day they can continue their domestic trips,” said Prof Wiku citing the official website of the Covid-19 Task Force.

The government also anticipates the potential for transmission from PPLN who continue their journey from Bali to other areas. With vaccine certificates and travel history records at PeduliLindung and strict implementation of health protocols.

“This effort can be used as a form of anticipation to suppress the potential for virus transmission in the community,” explained Wiku.

Previously, it was reported that in April 2022, Indonesia would abolish the mandatory quarantine for foreign travelers (PPLN).

This was revealed directly by the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, who said that this rule would first look at the evaluation of Covid-19 cases from reducing the number of 3-day quarantines starting today.

“On April 1, it is planned to carry out an implementation without quarantine to enter Indonesia,” said Nadia at a press conference, Monday (1/3).

It should be noted that today, March 1, 2022, Indonesia has reduced the duration of quarantine to only 3 days for foreign travelers who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have been boosted.

Furthermore, if the case continues to decline, on March 14, 2022, trials of removing quarantine will be carried out in Bali, Bintan, and Batam.
