TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Persela Lamongan’s position in the BRI League 1 competition is getting more difficult. Especially after Laskar Joko Tingkir lost to Bali United with a score of 1-2 in week 28 of Liga 1 at Kompyang Sujana Stadium, Tuesday, March 1, 2022.
Persela is currently in 17th position (relegation zone) with 20 points. They are seven points behind Barito Putera who is ranked 15th.
Persela player Valen Telaubun said he was still optimistic about escaping the relegation zone even though there were six games remaining.
“We from the players are always optimistic. The difference in points from the relegation team is still possible. In terms of (mentally) our players are normal, but we need to win,” Valen said at a press conference after the match against Bali United.
The same thing was said by Persela’s physical trainer, Ragil Sudirman. He hopes the Persela players will not be discouraged.
Ragil emphasized that there were still a few matches so the players should not be discouraged. “So all of our players are motivated, work hard in matches. We still have time, if you want to work hard, you will definitely succeed,” said Ragil.
Regarding the result against Bali United, Ragil admitted that his team conceded. He said his foster children played quite well.
“The Persela players in the first half played well, as well as in the second half. We conceded in this situation corner kickIf the children are disciplined, we don’t concede goals,” he added.
