Telkomsel’s 5G Technology Brought to Mandalika, from Robots to Drones

At the 5G Experience showcase which took place in the Commercial Mandalika International Street Circuit area, visitors could directly enjoy digital technology from Telkomsel which was able to open up wider opportunities in presenting a variety of innovations across Indonesia’s industrial sectors.

During the 2022 MotoGP event, visitors can also try the latest technology use cases supported by Telkomsel’s Hyper 5G network, such as the Humanoid Robot use case.

For those who don’t know, this humanoid robot is supported by Telkomsel Hyper 5G and has the ability to resemble humans.

This technology allows the robot to perform various activities, such as welcoming and recognizing the faces of guests/visitors, entertaining visitors by performing dance actions and displaying certain interesting movements.

With its advantages, Humanoid Robot can be used for various industries such as entertainment, media, to retail.

Then there is the Cloud Gaming use case, which brings the excitement of playing MotoGP racing games live streaming.

With the characteristics of higher throughput and lower latency, Telkomsel’s Hyper 5G allows anyone to be able to play games online or directly from the server without a hitch.

This will bring new changes in the gaming sector, where everyone no longer needs to install games and does not have to have a device with high-end specifications to be able to play games with high graphics as long as there is adequate 5G.

5G technology also makes it possible to improve the functionality of drones. The Hyper 5G network not only has low latency characteristics, but also the ability to provide connections between sensor devices and massive communication tools, allowing anyone to use drones for various things, including industrial needs.

These uses include real-time surveillance, making observations in hard-to-reach places, to rescue and monitoring needs in emergency situations.

These advantages are offered through the 5G Drone use case, where visitors can see a video demonstration of the use of 5G drones for remote surveillance needs.

This fifth generation telecommunications technology can also enhance the experience of using virtual reality (VR) for various needs.

One of them is shown in the Virtual Reality use case, which allows visitors to try using the technology for various things, such as playing online games, holding meetings, training simulations and remote collaboration, to virtually enjoying tourist destinations and natural beauty in Labuan Bajo.

In addition to VR, Telkomsel also presents the use of Hyper 5G in the application of Augmented Reality (AR) technology through the AR Industrial Work Instruction use case.

Through this use case, Telkomsel wants to show how Telkomsel’s 5G technology can support the application of AR in the industrial sector, such as inspection activities and remote instructions for training purposes to machine maintenance and repair in the automotive industry.

On this occasion, visitors can experience firsthand the use of AR for the purposes of repairing motorcycle engines virtually equipped with real-time instructions.

Finally, in the uses case for 5G mmWave-Device, Telkomsel collaborated with Huawei and Qualcomm to show how Telkomsel’s Hyper 5G network has been able to support the optimization of various mobile devices such as laptops, smartphones, to modems and routers that use the mmWave 26 GHz frequency to provide high speed access so that can provide a maximum 5G experience.

In this use case, visitors can find out firsthand the advantages of Hyper 5G through speed testing, playing online games, and streaming 4K videos without lag or buffering.
