Jakarta, IDN Times – The government has again changed the quarantine rules for foreign travelers (PPLN) to three days. The changes to the rules are contained in Circular Letter (SE) Number 20 of 2022.
“The Circular Number 20 that we have issued is in accordance with the circular issued by the Covid Task Force in early March. So SE Number 13 of 2022 is revoked and declared invalid,” said Director General of Civil Aviation, Novie Riyanto in his statement, Monday (7/3/2022).
1. Airports that can be passed by PPLN when arriving in Indonesia
In the SE it is explained, there are a number of airports that PPLN can pass when arriving in Indonesia. The airports are Soekarno Hatta Banten, Juanda Sidoarjo East Java, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Bali, Hang Nadim Batam, Raja Haji Fisabilillah Tanjung Pinang, Sam Ratulangi Manado and Zainuddin Abdul Madjid West Nusa Tenggara.
“Especially for PPLN entering Indonesian territory through Zainuddin Abdul Madjid Airport, it must use a system mechanism bubble” he said.

2. Three-day quarantine applies to PPLN who have been vaccinated twice

Novie explained that the 3-day quarantine applies to PPLNs who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 at least twice. Novie also then explained other conditions.
“The conditions that must be met by PPLN are showing proof of order confirmation and payment (booking) accommodation places while staying in Indonesia, and specifically for PPLN foreigners, attaching a short visit visa or entry permit according to laws and regulations, and proof of ownership of health insurance of at least 25 thousand dollars, which includes financing for handling COVID-19,” he said.
3. PPLN must test for COVID-19 after the last day of quarantine
Furthermore, Novie said, PPLN is also required to be tested for COVID-19 on the last day of quarantine. Indonesian citizens who return from abroad with urgent conditions such as the need for treatment that can be life threatening, can be excluded from quarantine.
“Nevertheless, they still have to show a negative RT-PCR retest result, upon arrival at the entrance (entry point) overseas travel, to prevent and avoid the spread of the COVID-19 virus,” he added.
