There has never been an OTT in Bangka Belitung, this is the KPK’s message

Jakarta, IDN Times – Deputy Chairperson of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Nurul Ghufron stated that his party had never carried out a hand arrest operation (OTT) in the Province of the Bangka Belitung Islands. He hoped that would never happen.

“Babel has never had OTT, and it is hoped that there will never be OTT in this area,” said Nurul Ghufron after the Integrated Prevention Coordination Meeting with all regional heads throughout the Babylon Islands Province in Pangkalpinang, quoted from AMONGTuesday (8/3/2022).

According to Ghufron, the KPK continues to hold coordination meetings even though in one area there has been an OTT. Because, in principle, the coordination meeting is held to prevent corruption in the area.

“In areas where OTT is found, we will continue to hold this coordination meeting. We hope that areas that do not have OTT will still not have OTT and those with OTT, then there will be no more OTT,” he said.

On that occasion, Ghufron appreciated the acquisition of the highest “Monitoring Center for Prevention” (MCP) scores in the three regional governments, namely the Central Bangka Regency Government of 76.2 percent, the Bangka Regency Government of 75.9 percent and the Babel Islands Provincial Government of 72.6 percent. which scored above the average local government score in Babel, which was 61 percent.

“The ‘MCP’ score illustrates the commitment and seriousness of the regional government to take preventive measures. However, the regional government should not stop at just achieving a score,” he said.

According to him, the MCP scores are administrative figures which are the efforts of the local government. It is the task of the local government to manage the budget and spend it transparently and accountably.

“We want to ensure that every rupiah collected from the people is managed and used for the benefit of the people,” said Ghufron.
