Gadgetren – Previously at the 2022 Mobile World Congress (MWC) technology event, Qualcomm announced its newest product innovation, one of which is the latest Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 processor which is intended for business class laptops or PCs.
This processor is rumored to be supporting the Lenovo ThinkPad X13s laptop which will soon be marketed globally in May 2022 at a price of 1,099 USD or the equivalent of 15.7 million rupiah. Interestingly, this product has been posted on the official Indonesian website, but until now Lenovo Indonesia has not revealed when the laptop will go on sale.
Equipped with a Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 processor, this new laptop is claimed to offer 85 percent faster than the previous generation to handle multitasking activities. This laptop is also supported by a fanless cooling system that will allow the laptop engine to have a quiet sound when in use.
In addition, the processor support allows the ThinkPad X13s laptop to always be active and connected to the 5G network because it is equipped with standby and instant-on features and optional Sub-6GHz or 5G mmWave connectivity with 5G capabilities.
Thanks to this technology, users will be able to enjoy higher quality video conferencing while offering low latency, and other collaboration activities. The processor is also combined with 32GB dual channel LPDDR4x RAM and up to 1TB of PCle Gen 4 SSD storage.
Don’t forget the Snapdragon Gen 3 Qualcomm Adreno graphics card has been embedded into the body to run applications, videos, and visual content on the screen. The screen is full of charm with a size of 13.3 inches which has a WUXGA resolution (1920 x 1200 pixels IPS panel and supports 400 nits brightness, antiglare, 100% sRGB, and certified eye protection against blue light exposure.
On the screen there is also a 5 MP RGB resolution webcam camera which is equipped with the webcam privacy e-shutter feature. The operating system uses Windows 11 Pro and has a battery capacity of 49.5Whr which is claimed to be able to be used for up to 28 hours. Charging also supports fast charging or Rapid Charge.
For durability, the ThinkPad X13s laptop is certified by the MIL-STD 810H standard in the form of a 12-point test and more than 200 quality checks to ensure it runs under extreme conditions. These tests cover environmental extremes, temperature, pressure, humidity, vibration, falls, and more.
Physically, this laptop weighs only 1.06kg and offers a Thunder Black color variant with a 90 percent magnesium recycled material certification. Regarding security, the ThinkPad X13s laptop is supported by Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0, Kensington lock, Microsoft Secured Core, and Computer Vision human-presence detection alerts.
The keyboard is water-resistant or spill-resistant and has a 4.33-inch touchpad that provides white backlit light and the F9 key for privacy shutter. Other supporting features are complete, starting from Dolby Audio which consists of 2 speakers and 3 microphones, Qualcomm Voice & Audio Suite, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, 2 x USB-C 3.2 Gen 2, headphones, and SIM.
