Treat Erectile Dysfunction, this is how Viagra works that can make you ‘tense’ in half an hour

Suara.com – Viagra is a ‘magic pill’ for millions of men with erectile dysfunction. Within half an hour, this drug is able to make the penis erect.

Erectile dysfunction is defined as the inability to get and maintain an erection.

This condition is common to all men of all ages, especially those aged 40 to 70 years, reports The Sun.

An erection occurs when a protein called cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) is released. This protein causes the walls of the blood vessels to relax, allowing blood to flow to the penis and making it harden.

Meanwhile, there is a protein called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5), which can break down cGMP thereby stopping an erection.

In people with erectile dysfunction, PDE-5 can work too fast. Viagra works by blocking PDE-5 from working. It binds to PDE-5 so it cannot break down cGMP. That way, the penis can stay hard.

Evidence shows that men looking to improve their sexual performance are generally satisfied with the results they get after taking Viagra.

Another study of nearly 4,000 men with erectile dysfunction who were treated with Viagra found a marked improvement in erectile firmness.
