TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Another Indonesian footballer who is being targeted by a Turkish club. He is Ronaldo Kwateh who said he wanted to play abroad.
The player who defended Madura United revealed that he was being approached by Turkish club Antalyaspor. Ronaldo confirmed the news.
However, Ronaldo, who is currently joining the U-19 national team training camp, doesn’t want to think too much about the negotiation process. According to him, it has been taken care of by his agent.
“If that (the Turkish club’s interest) is (true). But I want to focus on playing first. That has been taken care of, hopefully it can run smoothly,” Ronaldo said when met after the first U-19 national team practice at the Madya Stadium, Jakarta, Wednesday, March 2, 2022.
Ronaldo also did not rule out a career other than in Turkey. Because the main target is to be able to play abroad.
Nevertheless, the 17-year-old confirmed that he currently chose to focus on attending the U-19 national team training camp which is being projected to play in the 2023 U-20 World Cup.
“My target is to train well, participate in the training program well. And hopefully I can continue to be consistent until later in the U-20 World Cup,” said the son of former PSIS Semarang player, Roberto Kwateh.
Ronaldo had tasted the Indonesian national team in three age groups, namely the U-19 national team, U-23 national team and also the Senior National Team. He even made his debut with the senior national team during the FIFA Matchday match last January against Timor Leste. He successfully contributed one assist in the senior national team.
Ronaldo made his debut with Madura United in the 2021 Menpora Cup against PSS Sleman, 23 March 2021. Meanwhile, his debut in the Indonesian League 1 occurred on 3 September 2021 against Tira Persikabo at the Indomilk Stadium, Tangerang.
