[UPDATE ] COVID-19 cases increase by 30,148, the most in West Java

Jakarta, IDN Times – Daily cases of COVID-19 in Indonesia on Tuesday (8/2/2022), an increase of 30,148 cases. With this addition, the COVID-19 Handling Task Force reported, the total cases of the corona virus in the country became 5,800,253 cases.

West Java contributed the most cases with the addition of 7,194 cases today. Followed by DKI Jakarta with 3,569 cases, East Java with 2,769 cases, and Bali with 2,682.

The government continues to urge the public to continue to comply with the COVID-19 health protocol with the 5M, namely maintaining distance, wearing masks, avoiding crowds, reducing mobility, and washing hands using soap and running water to prevent transmission of the virus.

Meanwhile, the Task Force also reported an additional 55,128 recovered cases today. Thus, the total recovered cases of COVID-19 in Indonesia became 5,226,530 cases.

West Java is the region that contributed the most cases of recovered COVID-19 today, namely 22,001 cases. Followed by Central Java with 5,118 cases, DKI Jakarta with 4,229 cases, East Java with 3,672 cases, and North Sumatra with 2,412 cases.

3. A total of 401 COVID-19 patients died

The COVID-19 Task Force also reported that 401 people had died from COVID-19 as of today. In total, the number of people who died from COVID-19 to date has reached 150,831 people.

Central Java contributed 136 cases of death, East Java 58 cases, while DKI Jakarta 26 cases, then West Java 23, and DI Yogyakarta 15 cases.

4. Total recipients of the first vaccination reached 192 million

The COVID-19 Pandemic Handling Task Force noted that 194,941 people received the first dose of vaccination today. The total recipients of the first dose of vaccination reached 192,263,704.

The Task Force also reported that 566,367 people received the second dose of vaccination today, bringing the total who received the second dose of vaccination to 148,587,718. While the vaccination dose of three or booster there are 360,196 so total recipients booster reached 12,847,312.

In total, the Task Force targets the vaccination target to reach 208,265,720 people.
