Suara.com – Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin ensured that he and the Ministry of Health would go down the mountain or intervene to mediate the conflict between former Health Minister Terawan Agus Putranto and the Indonesian Doctors Association or IDI.
This, said Minister of Health Budi, needs to be done considering that there is quite a complicated debate among doctors regarding Terawan’s dismissal as a doctor permanently by the Indonesian Doctors Association Medical Ethics Honorary Council or MKEK IDI.
“The Ministry of Health will start assisting the mediation process between IDI and its members, so that communication is good so that the situation that is built will be conducive,” said Minister of Health Budi during a press conference Monday (28/3/2022).
This step was taken by the Ministry of Health so that the debate between IDI members who agreed and disagreed with Terawan’s dismissal as a doctor could soon subside and be resolved.

Minister of Health Budi also added that there are still many tasks and challenges from the Ministry of Health and medical organizations such as IDI that need to be the main focus of health workers.
Moreover, Indonesia is faced with high rates of stunting, maternal and infant mortality, cancer, to chronic and catastrophic diseases, including Covid-19 which is still a threat to the Indonesian health system.
“Because we really need our power and thoughts to jointly find a solution so that the pandemic can be overcome,” explained Minister of Health Budi.
For your information, some time ago the IDI MKEK was excited to issue a letter of recommendation for the dismissal of former Health Minister Terawan Agus Putranto or commonly called Doctor Terawan from IDI membership.
The recommendation was officially read out at the 31st IDI Congress in Banda Aceh, Friday (25/3/2022). Suddenly, the decision sparked pros and cons, considering the actions of Dr. Terawan in the national medical world.

The recommendation stated, first: the decision to dismiss Terawan as a result of the MKEK meeting in a special session which decided on the permanent dismissal of Prof. Dr. dr. Terawan Agus Putranto, Sp.Rad(K) as a member of IDI.
Second, the dismissal is carried out by PB IDI no later than 28 working days. Third, this stipulation is effective from the date of stipulation.
