Apple Introduces Mac Studio, Super Speeding PC with M1 Ultra

Telset.id, Jakarta – Not only iPad Air 2022 and iPhone SE 5G, Apple also launched Mac Studio. It is a desktop device that is in between the Mac Mini and Mac Pro ranges.

Aimed at professional users, Mac Studio promises high levels of performance but in the form of a desktop without a monitor. The device measures just 3.7 inches wide and 7.7 inches high.

Making it interesting again is, Apple buried a new chipset called the Apple M1 Ultra. This chipset is claimed to offer CPU performance that is 60% faster than the Mac Pro which uses an Intel Xeon 28 Core processor.

Apple Mac Studio Specifications

Apple takes advantage of the height of this device to embed a double-sided fan for cooling. This blower pushes air out through more than 4,000 holes in the back.

Apple claims the cooling system will keep Mac Studio cool under heavy workloads.

Up front is the SDXC slot, along with a pair of USB-C ports for the M1 Max, Thunderbolt 4 for the M1 Ultra. On the back are four Thunderbolt 4 ports, along with Ethernet, two USB-Type A, HDMI, and a headphone jack.

At its highest configuration, the M1 Ultra version will provide a 20-core CPU and 64-core GPU, and a 32-core Neural Engine. There is Media Engine technology for video encoding and decoding, which will make Mac Studio attractive to creative professionals.

RAM capacity is available up to 128 GB. While for storage using SSD up to 8 TB.

In Apple’s benchmark claims, a Mac Studio with the M1 Max processor specs has up to 50% more CPU performance than a Mac Pro with a 16-core Xeon processor, and graphics performance is more than 3 times faster than a Mac Pro with the most popular graphics card.

The M1 Ultra version boosts CPU performance up to 90% faster than the same 16-core Xeon Mac Pro processor and up to 80% faster graphics performance than the fastest Mac graphics card available.

Video support runs for up to four Pro Display XDR plus 4K TVs, for a total of close to 90 million device-driven pixels.

The new computing device Apple Max Studio is priced starting at USD 1,999 or the equivalent of Rp. 28.7 million with the M1 Max and USD 3,999 or around Rp. 57 million with the M1 Ultra. (HR/MF)
